While I can't speak for RMH, I do like this change, considering how flexible it is to setup the discord server with multiple rooms and all. I'd imagine that it reduces the financial burden on the site by eliminating the cost on software as well (iirc, Ryon had to pay for the chat server/software separately back when he was still in charge).

Our Discord server started as a way for staff to keep in touch during downtime.  It worked great for that, and it had sufficient moderating capabilities so we decided to open it up to the forum.  Found out it had an embed feature which allowed us to put it on the front page of the forum, so we were all set.  

About half way through this process IPS announced they would be discontinuing their chat feature may 1st of next year.  So that solidified it.  Not to mention Discord is a Way richer environment than our chat feature ever was, has multiple channels, voice channels, video chat, the ability to upload and embed pics and files directly into the chat, and it's free.  Our chat app cost $15 a year, which we'll now be able to redirect toward something else to make the forum even better.  

Ah!... that awesome :-D

since im off  most of the weekend i should have the time to sign up for Discord....

... but first i need to take a long nap... working 10hrs a day can really wear you down man...
