      Or when they add a writer's self-insert to have a cruch with one of those underage protagonists.

       

      Yes ! I know ! That series went on for too long since the first episodes.

      Or when they shift the focus to the protagonists' child(ren).....or turn it edgy......or just introduce some more unnecessary forms for the main protagonists....or reset the universe the characters were in into an entirely new one

      I'm looking at you, Naruto, Sonic, Alpha & Omega, The Swan Princess, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (even though ViVid Strike! and the movies are good), Dragon Ball, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure....... 😒
