That said, good stories are subjective. A newcomer to anime might find stories that veterans consider lower-grade to be good stories. This may even be directly related to their inexperience. Don't rush them to the amazing content— let them discover it at their own pace. They'll appreciate it more.

You have to realize that despite her low killing ability, she simply outpaces everyone with her speed mobility, and defensive options. Even if the meta-game is young and ever-changing you cannot make statements like she is horrible until she stops winning tournaments and everyone stops using her.

Make it a blunt point to them that there is no truth behind any belief. There is no right or wrong. "Do you see me making fun of you because you don't believe in what I do? No? Then why the fuck are you doing the same. Don't say anything unless it's a valid response." Then walk away. Honestly, I'd just try to stay away from them if it's at all possible. There are stubborn people no matter where you go.
