This is a boss character that was designed to be tough. As he loses life, he attacks with more things, moves faster and even gains more defense on the second round. This was something that was a completely new experience for me as most of my characters are playable. Having that said, enjoy the fight! [Readme] === Bowser's Readme === Name: Bowser Origin: Super Mario World Author: Alexei Roschak (Алексей) Bowser is that classic antagonist from the Mario games who steals Princess Peach. In this rendition, the only thing he's stolen is your time, because now you have to use it to beat him. He's back from the NES to show you his new and improved design while kicking back to the classics and the way things were in games. Credits: Balthazar - The amazing spriter who made these reimagined sprites from scratch. Check out his site for more of his amazing design: http://network.mugenguild.com/balthazar/ Omega - The guy who came up with this great idea. === Gameplay === Bowser is a Boss character who is only controlled by his own AI. Players cannot control him, so be prepared to watch if you're choosing him as player one. Since there's no gameplay "with" him, I'll explain the gameplay against him. He will fly above the player moving back and forth. If he gets too close to any wall, he'll turn, so don't think you can just run away and leave him off screen. The goal is to defeat bowser who's only vulnerable when his body is sticking out of the clown car. Hitting the clown car won't damage him. This fight is meant to be hard, so make sure you don't rely on guarding... because you can't. Bowser reacts differently as his life gets smaller and will pose a greater challenge after you've defeated him once. Legend: Name Description - Notes ... --- Throw Enemies: Bowser ducks into his car and will throw 1-3 random enemies from the top of the clown car. The enemies could be goombas, koopas or bobombs. - Enemies can be knocked away before they touch the ground. After they touch the ground, there area few ways to get rid of them. - Bomboms cannot hurt you until they explode. Hitting a bobomb on the ground will make it explode and hurt you if you're too close. - Goombas and Koopas can be killed if they're jumped on, like Mario! They'll hurt you if you get too close though. Glass Ball / Cannonball: Bowser ducks into his car and turns over. Out of the top falls a huge Cannonball or Glass Ball that rolls forwards. - The ball will continually damage you if you're in its path. - The ball can be pushed back with attacks, but it's heavy so you'll have to give it some force. Fire Blast: Bowser breaths a stream of fire forward that covers a large area. - If you're close, try ducking. Depending on your character's size, you might be able to dodge it. The best way is just move out of it though. Rainy Fire Blast: Bowser tilts his head back and breaths a spray of fire upwards. Down falls small fireballs with faces. Each does damage that can add up if you're not careful. - The range is quite wide of the falling fireballs so you'll want to get out of it as best you can. - Even if a fireball is on the ground, it's still hot unless it's faded. Bullet Bill Cannon: Bowser ducks into his car and aims the top at the player. After some time, a giant bullet bill is fired at them. It explodes on impact to walls, floors and characters. :P Soaring Snatch: Bowser ducks into his car and flies up. He then flies out from the side of the screen, upside down with his arm extended. If he grabs you, he pulls you into his car and deals some damage to you, throwing you out afterwards, in flames. - It depends on the height of your character, but try ducking for an easy dodge. Otherwise, you'll want to jump over him. Clown Car Fire Blast: Deemed as one of the most deadly moves, Bowser ducks into his car and aims a large stream of fire at you from the top of the car. - The fire has a range, but try not to stay in corners or you'll take a lot of damage if this one gets you. === Conclusion === Bowser is a project that was offered to me by Omega. It was his idea and I chose to take it on becaue I felt like this would be a fun and interesting challenge. While there were times of frustration, I made sure that the quality was there and that I didn't cut any corners. I hope you enjoy this fight, learn from it and eventually conquer it! Enjoy guys. I might have to use a less traditional character to fight this guy. Also, shouldn't this be the SNES Bowser re-imagining, since Super Mario World was made on the snes? Алексей Posted March 10, 2015 Author Share Posted March 10, 2015 Haha yes you are right. I've been writing that everywhere. Bowser's original sprite look like they belong in NES, so I wrote that. Shamefully never played the game. :\ Anyways, hope you like it. KFM in that video is fighting him with lower defense for testing, so that's why it looks so simple. In the released version, Bowser doesn't have any invul frames after he's hit. That's so weird because he was supposed. Hell, in his update, he's going to have even more invul frames lol.
