I'm currently working on sprites and I'm making quite some progress.

Thanks to Alex Sinigaglia for helping me with shading the standing hard kick sprite, he did a really good job. I slightly edited it also.

I've looked at the edit Alex made and used it as a reference when shading other similar sprites such this Standing Light Kick sprite:

I'm also working on the walking animation again. After chuchoryu worked on the shading and added a fifth frame to the anim, I've been editing the sprites to make them look less like SFA and more original.

I've checked the CVS2 Morrigan sprites (I think Drex made them) and compared them to Armentis' SF3 Morrigan sprite:

With CPS3 sprites (SF3 sprites), a respective character's sprites are bigger than their CPS2 (Alpha 3, Darkstalkers, MVC) counterparts.

So, I'd have to rescale the sprites, clean them up and add new colors and more detail, and like I said, I'm not really a spriter.

With Kratos, it wouldn't be as difficult to make a sprite set for him as most of his sprites would be edited from Urien.

 

I probably will start a SF3 Seth W.I.P. but I just don't know when, and that's after I get chuchoryu's permission to use his SF3 Seth sprites. And then, I don't know when all of SF3 M. Bison's sprites will be finished so I could have some spare time after finishing Sagat.

 

I'm mainly focusing on making SF3 characters that I really like or that I really like the idea of them being in SF3 style and Morrigan isn't on that list.

Those CvS sprite were made by Li-Kun, and only that SF3 stance is "finished" (no, it's not) by Armentis.

That scaling, for how accurate or not it can be, doesn't take into account that there was a change of spriters/artists for each game. So Hulk would probably be different from that.

 

I am one of those guys (sorry Werewood) that wants to suggest you to work on one character at a time, if not you end up like Chuchoryu. I hope you do not go the Chuchoryu route.

 

Is there someone going to make SF3 Vega/M.Bison? From the poll he (Ink) made in MFG it seems he's going to make Demitri.

I've decided. SF3 Seth and SF3 Kratos can wait. I'm just going to focus on one character at a time. I might have a side project to work on when I get bored of just working on SF3 characters but it wouldn't receive as much attention. I also intend to take feedback and criticism that each released character gets and improve them based on that feedback.

 

chuchoryu said he would sprite a SF3 M. Bison, SF3 Vega (Claw) and SF3 Balrog in order for me to code all of them. I've also told him that I'm working on each SF3 character one at a time.

I edited the legs, changed the shading a little bit, some of the detailing and the shape of them. Please give me feedback on the anim so I can try to improve it more. Have I improved it at all?

Who else is in your SF3 W.I.P. list?

 

Confirmed SF3 W.I.P.s are Sagat, M. Bison, Balrog, Vega and Demitri.

 

Maybe SF3 W.I.P.s are Kratos*, Seth, Blanka, Gouken and Oni*. (*The sprites for these chars do not exist yet)

I've nearly finished adding the new shading to all existing sprites and I've added walt and Alex's new Standing Hard Punch sprite into the .sff file and finished the animation.

I've been making steady progress on the sprites. While the new face shading is almost done, the forth secondary color shade is implemented in around 50% of the sprites. I've also been adding more frames to some of the Jumping Normals.

With the palettes, there are over 20 of them. I have them all sorted by who made them in the char's palette folder. While a random assortment of pals will be pre-installed in the char when downloaded, they can be easily swiched out for others with the use of FF3.

Alright, a good chunk of news.

I've almost finished all of the normal attacks. They just need to be slightly adjusted. So far, the hitsparks, hit boxes, sounds and power gained have been set.

I've decided to add in Tiger Knee as the Close Standing Strong Kick attack instead of a unique attack.

I'm having trouble with the Tiger Hook animation so I'm leaving it for now. I'm focused on the finishing the normals and moving on to the throws. There probably won't be any major news for a little while.
