One of my "Mugen Goals" is to make a MFFA Stadium stage.
Sooner or later this year since i know how already.

Know it´s a mostly "Retro" preference but still wonder, reasons to why all newer chars are still made to just display correctly at under 640x480 (even high end 1.1 only+32bits ones like Blazblue)

So every once in a while, some of the guys DL and show off some of the characters made for Mugen recently. What really bugs me the most is when shoddy creations get nothing but praise especially from authors that have been making characters for a long time and still haven't learned a thing. Not that they're ever given a reason to improve as they still get praised for it.
I think we need more people willing to rip apart a character without thinking too much on what others think.

Prior to my site's demise and even during the attempted resurrection, I had always had plans (and the staff knew) of creating a judge/review system for creations. I guess kinda like mugen american idol or something. I wanted bare minimum 3 people and we were gonna create a set of parameters to judge off of it and then leave room to leave a personal comment on it at the end. I just never got around to creating the criteria on what would make someone qualified for it and how to make it not seem like a circlejerk.

characterscreations need to be ripped apart honestly.
Flipside though, i think there need be some care or some sort of disclaimers made for it. I know its the internet but now its full of sensitive people who werent around before and the last thing I'd wanna see is someone do something drastic over a critique of their work for this engine.

I was gonna leave this open ended but...
The only one who paved the way was POTS himself.
The authors listed, I give credit for the attention and effort they give, but maybe excluding Infinite and DW (to a degree) it's all just knock offs to me.
To each their own y'know? But, I also feel like these guys could've put the same effort/energy towards their own "style"
Enough that it's their own thing with no close ties to POTS style.
Likewise, these other POTS styled chars are rushed and piss-poor in quality, so it actually draws more attention to those listed, I guess.
That's just my opinion/perspective. I've been playing mugen since 05. It was fun when everyone wasn't making the same shit.

Welp, after a small debacle with my internet provider, an (admittedly needed break) and walking into my job one morning to find out the shop had closed with zero warning, me and my gf getting new jobs (at the same place, which is wonderful) I'm finally back. I apologize for any problems caused by my absence. Sometimes life just comes out of nowhere and blind sides you on some random tuesday.

You might recognize who I am (the user which left this forum about a month ago).
First of all I would like to apologize for making a stupid farewell thread, and also my life became meaningless after leaving the whole mugen community. All 30-40 days I spent myself on some jobs and playing games, but my hard working experience has gone away and a interest to talk to someone. I wished to get back into condition and continue my hobby life. I will not do mugen stuff since I have wasted all my free time this year and my higher school days start in October. To conclude this, I will stay here as much as I wish. All my mugen stuff is now open source and you can do whatever you want with them.

Just make things when you want to. Don't feel obligated to do anything. Taking a break from the engine and sometimes community is a good thing. Either way, welcome back. Always give your real life priority, just balance your time better.
P.S. Mugen and Open Source is stupid. The engine is free, and the resources are accessible. i.e. open and closed source don't really exist.
